The free lunch is coming to an end,and the highly anticipated CMMB mobile TV is about to fully enter the era of charging.
Yesterday,the First Financial Daily learned from the CMMB industry chain enterprise that the operating entity of CMMB,China National Radio and Television,has officially confirmed the tariff policy for 2010.
The reporter learned that for the first three years starting from 2010,China National Radio and Television mainly charges fees to terminal enterprises.The fee standard is a 3-year CMMB fee package of 300 yuan,which is paid by CMMB terminal enterprises.Ordinary users can watch CMMB programs for free during these three years without paying any other fees.
For key CMMB terminal enterprises,Zhongguang Communication will provide tariff subsidies,with a subsidy amount of 162 yuan per user developed within 3 years.For subsidized terminal enterprises,they only need to pay 138 yuan per user within 3 years to achieve free viewing for users.
The CMMB network,a mobile TV standard dominated by the broadcasting and television system,has been under construction since 2007.So far,China Radio and Television has established branches in 28 provinces and cities across the country,with signal coverage reaching over 250 cities.
According to the agreement reached between the State Administration of Radio,Film and Television and China Mobile,CMMB and TD will operate in a module bundled mode,and both sides expect to develop a total of 50 million CMMB users in the next three years.
